Whether young or old, everyone will enjoy Scottsville's new state of the art YMCA with swimming pool, gymnasium, a wide array of exercise equipment, and much, much more, Scottsville now has a facility many communities can only envy. Allen Countians can now stay in great physical shape, improve their health status, and also have some family fun in the process.

Allen County is also the home of The Medical Center at Scottsville, a large state of the art hospital. The Center includes 24 hour emergency room care, several specialty clinics, various rehabilitation services, and the Cal Turner Extended Care Pavilion.

The Medical Center is a non profit organization performing health care services for the people of Scottsville and surrounding counties. Scottsville is also only 60 miles from Nashville, Tennessee, where additional specialist care is available from Vanderbilt, Baptist, and St. Thomas Hospitals.

Allen County has become a haven for retirees looking for relaxation, good medical care, and ways to spend free time. The Barren River Lake State Park, with its wonderful fishing, boating opportunities, and wonderful vacation/retirement homes overlooking the lake, fulfill many of those retirement dreams.

Additionally, there are variety of entertainment options available locally, or short distances away in Bowling Green or Nashville. Sporting events at the Division I college level in Bowling Green & Nashville, concerts, professional & semi-professional sporting events, museums, Mammoth Cave National Park, and more, all within an hours drive or less.
